Oilers podcaster Jason Gregor revealed on his latest episode why Oilers assistant coach and legend Paul Coffey has decided to return to the Oilers next season.

Gregor told his fan base that he spoke to coffee after the season came to an end and as Coffey was driving back with his son, he told him that he needed some time to evaluate as he was tired from the long season and playoffs.

Many fans were curious to know if he was going to return as Coffey has had an enormous impact on how the Oilers play defence an especially how the defensemen view him as a coach. It was quoted by Cody Ceci that coffee made the game fun again.

"Cody Ceci told me that Coffey made the game fun again for him."

It was also revealed that during their exit interviews every defenseman on the team wanted Coffey to return Which helped make his decision. Having Coffey put on the bench last year by former general manager Ken Holland was one of the best decisions of his tenure while running the Oilers.

Stories have emerged on how coffee would explain his vision of the game and how his defenseman should carry it out which was shown as the season wore on especially during the playoffs.

With the team enhanced by all the moves from President Jeff Jackson and potential moves by newly hired general manager Stan Bowman, it's safe to say that there will be more options for coffee to do his magic and get players to play the defence that is needed to win the Stanley Cup.
