Team Canada Player Calls Out Connor Bedard and Others During Post-Game Interview
Team Canada discovered that it would be difficult to win the World Junior Hockey Championships again. Hockey Insiders thought the Canadian squad roster may be one of the finest ever, but the Czechs gave the players a harsh dose of reality.
Early on, the Canadian squad gave the Czech Republic a run for their money by applying pressure, with captain Shane Wright scoring the first goal. Unfortunately, team Canada put too much effort into scoring goals worthy of highlight reels, including two Michigan efforts in the opening frame.
Dylan Guenther, a Arizona Coyotes top prospect who is on Team Canada's roster didn't show any mercy calling out Connor Bedard and Adam Fantilli, both who attempted the Michigan move multiple times:
«We're not going to Michigan' our way to the final.» - Canada's Dylan Guenther
The lighted Canadian audience in Halifax was silenced by Czechia after taking a 3-1 lead. Canada would get optimism when Bedard would make the score 3-2.
Unfortunately, that was as near as Canada would go to winning this event, as team Czechia scored two more goals to defeat Canada 5-2 on the first day.
