Hyman was undoubtedly the Maple Leafs most underrated player and after he left the Leafs, the Edmonton Oilers General Manager Ken Holland was more then happy to sign Hyman to a 7 year $38,500,000 contract, averaging $5.5 million annually. Leafs fans made fun of the Oilers and called the Hyman contract a ''brutal signing'' and many more things, discouraging the Oilers decision to sign Hyman.
Since joining the Oilers Hyman has been worth every penny that he's been paid, contributing to where ever he's been needed this season, Hyman is having the best year of his NHL career scoring 26 goals, and 34 assists, for a total of 60 points in only 49 games. Hyman has added the secondary offence to compliment the best player in the world Connor McDavid.
In fact with McDavid's monster year he's having with 41 goals, and 51 assists for 92 points in just 50 games... Just to show how dominating McDavid and Hyman have been this season they have more even strength points then the entire Toronto Maple Leafs roster. Tell that to a Leaf fan if you want to see how fast your can ruin his day.
