The Calgary Flames own the trade deadline this year. Why? They have so many pieces they can trade, and one of them is goaltender Jacob Markstrom.

On the 32 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman thinks that Markstrom will waive his no trade clause if a good enough offer presents itself.

«Friedman on 32TP: I think (Jacob) Markstrom is frustrated, but he basically says you bring me something and I'll consider it' »

This isn't surprising, as Markstrom may want to go to a contender and play there to go for a cup, as Calgary is in a selling stage.

He'll be a good goalie for anyone, as he has a 2.60 GAA and a .913 SV%. GM Craig Conroy would be smart to take advantage of him being in the driver's seat, as Markstrom is the best goalie available and certainly has all eyes on him.

Several cup contending teams will be interested in trading for Markstrom. Earlier this week, it was reported that he waived his No Move Clause for a trade to New Jersey, but the deal fell through in the late stages. Clearly, Markstrom is ready to move on from the Flames, and just wants to get on with his career on a playoff team again.
