Life for Evander Kane as an Edmonton Oiler has been one of attempting to restore his image after experiencing several incidents during his time in the United States with the San Jose Sharks.

He has attempted to demonstrate good community service and befriended a 10-year-old girl who is battling brain cancer.

However, the stories from California do not end, as a new allegation has surfaced from the spouse of former Sharks forward Patrick Marleau. His wife, Christina, provided an account of an incident involving Kane with a young Sharks player.

Kane invited this player along with his girlfriend, to his home, where a controlled substance was used. The story continues with the young player running out of the home several hours after arriving and being missing for some time.

"My husband had heard that during the COVID pause in the season, Evander [Kane] had invited a teammate and his girlfriend to their home," she wrote. "The information we had heard was that both Evander and the teammate had taken some sort of substance, resulting in the teammate running out of the house and being missing for multiple hours throughout the night."

She continued her story with a young player named Ryan Merkley, who was 20 years old at the time. She explained that Kane would have him babysit his one-year-old daughter, Kensington, while he and his girlfriend went out for the night.

It's unclear if Merkley is the player in question who was involved with the controlled substance. However, with this revelation, it does not bode well for Kane and his image.

Kane's performance on the ice with the Oilers has been dismal at best, and he has yet to regain the form he had when he arrived from San Jose.
