Last night the Oilers entered the Battle of Alberta on the road seeking their 13th straight victory, and once again, they pulled off a win. This time with McDavid and Draisaitl held pointless, the Oilers relied on their depth scoring to win the game, and it was sealed by an incredible solo effort by Zach Hyman scoring one of the nicest empty net goals possible.

With 45 seconds to go and the game still within reach for the Flames, Hyman blocked a shot and chased after the loose puck rolling into the Flames' zone. He muscled off Rasmus Andersson to take full control of the puck, score the goal, and took another big hit to do so. From the ice, Hyman is clearly hyped up by the goal, clearly saying Let's go baby!'

This kind of goal is the epitome of what Zach Hyman is as a player. The hard work, physicality, and flat out determination that Hyman displays here is exactly how he's become so successful in Edmonton - and it's a style of play that will certainly do well in the playoffs. It may not be a flashy skill play, and there may not even be a goalie in net, but it's still an incredible effort and goal by Hyman.

So far this season, Hyman has absolutely gone off to have a career year. In 41 games, Hyman's scored an incredible 28 goals and 45 points. He's on pace to shatter his career high goals of 36 last year, currently on track to score 56 now. Hopefully, Hyman can find a way to the upcoming all star game to be honoured for his incredible season so far, but otherwise, he needs to rest up to help the Oilers down the stretch and in the playoffs. Off the back of a game winning goal by Gagner and the dagger by Hyman, the Oilers seem to be unstoppable at the moment.
