Former Oiler Zach Kassian returns to Edmonton for playoffs
The City of Edmonton is absolutely electric right now, solely dedicated to the Oilers going on what feels like a special playoff run. The outdoor watch parties at the Moss Pit have been an incredible display of passion from the fans, and now they'll get another treat.
Former Oiler Zach Kassian will be returning to Edmonton to watch a playoff game, sign autographs, and meet some fans.
It'll be an awesome sight to see a former fan favourite come and embrace the city and fanbase during this playoff run. After Nikita Zadorov put down the city of Edmonton in a press conference today, Kassian embracing the city is definitely welcome. If he'd like to lace up the skates one more time and take care of Zadorov, that'd be even better!
Zach Kassian returns to Edmonton for playoffs after retirement
Earlier this season, Kassian made one more valiant attempt to continue his pro hockey career overseas after his last season with the Arizona Coyotes. Kassian ended up playing only 8 games with Sparta Praha in the Czech professional league before leaving the team for personal reasons, and seemingly putting a book end on his hockey career.
Kassian wasn't the greatest player, and he was definitely a bit overpaid, but he always gave his best effort on some lacklustre Oilers teams, and always proudly represented the city of Edmonton. Fans will welcome him back with open arms tomorrow night.
