Rodrigue Has shown over the past couple of years that his numbers warrant a call up from Bakersfield as the Oilers continued to struggle in net with Stuart Skinner's numbers are dismal once again. Many feel that Skinner's inconsistency is one of the main factors to why the Oilers cannot right their ship and get back on their winning track.
Rodrigue has been posting a goal against of 2.33 and a save percentage of .929 which are fantastic numbers and certainly would bode well for the Oilers. There has been a sense of complacency with Skinner's game after he was anointed the starting goaltender after beleaguered goaltender Jack Campbell left the organization.
While helping the Oilers get to the Stanley Cup final and going all the way to Game 7, Skinner's numbers have been less than desirable for long stretches. This season hasn't been any different it has made Oilers fans nervous with the inconsistencies.
Rodrigue was drafted by the Oilers in 2018, second round 62nd overall. The 24-year-old netminder has been with the organization for quite some time and began his career with the Oilers in 2020 with Bakersfield.
It's safe to say that the Oilers should give him a chance to see what he can do and
prove his worth as the Oilers have been at the bottom in terms of goalie stats as Skinner has played twelve games, has had five wins but with a goals against a 3.28 and a save percentage of .877.
Perhaps a shake up in the net is exactly what the team needs and help instill confidence with the forward group and the defense knowing that the back end is stabilized.
