Preseason games for the Edmonton Oilers are less than a week away, and now the television broadcast crew for the season has been announced.

Fans will be thrilled to see that Gene Principe is returning as host, and Jack Michaels is back in the play by play booth with Louie DeBrusk for regional games. National games will still be called by Harnarayan Singh.

Oilers fans have grown to really love this regional broadcast crew together. Principe is always a loveable joker in his short segments, but Michaels and DeBrusk is one of the best commentary booths in the NHL. Michaels' calls always convey the frantic energy of Oilers games, and he's not afraid to show his fandom for the team he covers. DeBrusk is an old fan favourite player that brings solid analysis himself that plays perfectly off Michaels.

If there's one real change that Oilers fans want to see on their broadcast, it's getting this crew on national television for playoff games. Last playoffs and in many years past as well, Oilers fans actually petitioned Sportsnet to get Michaels on TV in the playoffs.

Sportsnet will be making one minor change this season to their broadcasts. Games on Monday Nights have been sold to Amazon, who will be broadcasting four Oilers games on Prime Video for the first time this year. Former Oiler Mark Messier will be involved in the broadcast.

Training camp officially opens tomorrow for the Edmonton Oilers with preseason games beginning September 22nd at home. Get excited Oilers fans!
