One thing that's been very interesting to keep an eye on in the NHL is the Los Angeles Kings. They started the season as one of the best teams in the league, but have been very quickly falling in the ranks league wide. The Kings are an astounding 2-6-4 since January 1st, and sit with the least amount of wins in the NHL in the new year. Kings fans are hugely upset with the team, going so far as to let the team know.

This came after the Kings most recent home game against the Sabres where they were up 3-1 after the first period and ended up losing 5-3. Kings fans had really been pushing for McLellan to be fired, but then that sentiment actually made its way into mainstream media. After the game against the Sabres, Todd was asked some very hard questions about his future as the coach.

The Kings are in full meltdown mode right now, and seem to need some full changes. Whether it be a coaching change or a big splash trade, they need something to spark their lineup. It's perplexing to see a team dominate early in the season, and the be the worst team in the league over this stretch. The Kings seemingly have pulled a reverse-Oilers, which is not a good place to be in past the halfway mark of the season. The Kings have given the Oilers a free spot into the playoffs, and their future in the post-season seems to definitely be in jeopardy.
