Tonight, two physical teams in the Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators squared off, and the game was just as animated as anyone would've expected. Specifically, Nashville's Yakov Trenin was a one-man wrecking crew in the game, but took it too far and paid the price when he laid a dirty hit from behind.
Trenin skated in and laid a hard hit to the numbers against Florida's Jonah Gadjovich. After falling to the ice and collecting himself for just a second, Gadjovich got up seeing red and went directly for revenge on Trenin in a fight. Gadjovich and Trenin spoke for a second before both tossing the gloves and going at it.
Both players landed some decent blows early on, but Gadjovich began laying a beating once Trenin's jersey came up over his face. From there, Trenin still battled, was was mostly flailing as Gadjovich got the better of him.
It's a fantastic sight to see a player stand up for not a teammate, but himself - and do it with the authority that Gadjovich did against a feared physical player like Trenin.
