Reaves and Rempe drop the gloves in most anticipated fight of the year
Moments ago in tonight's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers, the most anticipated hockey fight in years went down. In the third period at center ice, Ryan Reaves and Matt Rempe squared off for a massive heavyweight fight.
Since coming into the league just weeks ago, Rempe has made a name for himself as one of the most fearless fighters in the league. Through his first 5 career NHL games, he actually had more penalty minutes than time on ice. In his fight against the NHL's heavyweight favourite in Reaves, Rempe hung in there.
Earlier in the game, Reaves was looking to get Rempe to fight, who declined at that time. For a moment, hockey fans everywhere thought the fight wouldn't happen.
Both Reaves and Rempe landed quality shots, and the fight didn't distinctly produce a winner. These two are sure to square off once again later this year, and really settle who is the current heavyweight champ of the NHL.
