In a video shared on social media, fans started a full on brawl in Bean Town. A man in a white shirt began walking upstairs towards his opponent in the Chara jersey, and despite not having the high ground he still laid some punches. The fight then grew larger and devolved, becoming a large group of fans fighting while falling into the seats. Near the end of the video, it looked like the whole section was going at it, and the person recording had to get out of there.
It's truly insane to see just how often these fan fights happen across the NHL. Even in the playoffs, where fans spend hundreds of dollars to just get a ticket, will throw it away to be kicked out if a section of drunk guys decides to escalate things to a fight. The Bruins pulled off a fantastic 5-1 win to open the playoffs against the Leafs, and these fans probably didn't get to see the full event because of these actions.
Fan fights have broken out multiple times at home this year in Rogers Place in Edmonton as well. As hockey fans, it seems like something we really need to get together. Just leave the fighting for the players on the ice!
