Former Edmonton Oiler and current Kraken forward Jordan Eberle found himself in a distressing situation during a recent practice session. Eberle suffered a cut from a skate blade to the upper part of his leg, leading to a rushed hospitalization.
In response to Eberle's unfortunate injury, the Kraken acted swiftly, recalling top prospect Shane Wright from their AHL affiliate as an emergency replacement.
Kraken general manager Ron Francis provided insight into the nature of Eberle's injury, describing it as a "deep cut" near his quad muscle area. This unsettling incident occurred when Jaden Schwartz, during practice, accidentally stepped on a puck and lost his balance, leading to his skate blade inadvertently cutting Eberle.
As the Kraken prepare for an upcoming matchup against the Colorado team, it appears likely that one of the prospects, possibly Shane Wright, will step in to fill Eberle's role. The second AHL player is also under consideration, as the team strives to adapt to the absence of the injured veteran forward.
