The news coming out of the Vancouver Canucks organization is more intriguing by the day. The team continues to evaluate and make changes as the makeover of the Canucks ramps up as Jim Rutherford continues to put his stamp on the team.

Andrei Kuzmenko, the beleaguered winger has been in the doghouse with head coach Rick Tocchet for some time. Kuzmenko is not seeing eye to eye with his coach which has resulted in his ice time drop dramatically over the past several weeks.

Rutherford was on the Bob McCown podcast and was asked for an update on Kuzmenko and where he stands with the Canucks.

Having seen 4th line minutes and with no signs of change, I would expect Rutherford is discussing a possible trade package for Kuzmenko as he holds a 2 year contract $11 million which holds a $5.5 million cap hit. It's virtually impossible for him to stay with the Canucks at that salary level with those minutes.

As the NHL moves into the halfway point of the season it's expected the calls will continue to intensify and Kuzmenko could find himself on a new team.
