Last night, the Detroit Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers played a wild game in more ways than one. After being down by a score of 5-1, the Flyers came back to tie the game at 5-5 late in the third period, but went on to lose by a score of 7-6 in the shootout.

Despite the crazy lead changes and dramatic finish with a Patrick Kane shootout winner, perhaps the most stand-out moment of the game was when Red Wings' defender Shayne Gostisbehere openly mocked a Flyers' player for diving, and the referees for falling for it.

While skating to the box to serve a minor penalty, Gostisbehere made an entire diving motion. It was caught and not appreciated by the referees, who penalized him an extra two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Here's a view of the entire play, including the penalty.

It's not often that an NHL player pulls such a public of a stunt as this, but it immediately gets his point across to the Flyers' player, referees, fans at home, and the NHL commissioner undoubtedly watching this with contempt.
