The Oilers are currently putting their faith and their season on the shoulders of goaltender Stuart Skinner as they currently have a lack of options with Jack Campbell struggling and Calvin Pickard barely playing any games.

After their 4-3-win last night against the New York Rangers, Skinner gave a positive review on the game and was happy about the offence that was produced.

The game took a scary turn 2 minutes into the 2nd period when Mika Zibanejad took a slap shot high and hit Skinner in the head. The netminder was shaken up but alright and as mentioned many Rangers players came over to him to ask him if he was alright. Hats off to the Rangers for showing the respect and professionalism to do that.

Moments later Skinner mounted his revenge and did a phenomenal paddle save against Zibanejad which is highlight of the week material. This thing certainly set the tone for the rest of the game as he made 31 saves and was instrumental in keeping the Oilers to a 1-0 deficit early on.

It's great to see Skinner settling into a groove. As the Oilers continue to evaluate their goaltending then how they want to proceed, Skinner will need to be on the top of his game as the workload will continue to rise.
