During the last number of games, Oilers superstar Connor McDavid has been on the wrong side of some collisions and hits by opposing players. It seems that the Oilers have woken up and realized that they need to defend their captain more as this behaviour continues to happen.

Tonight, against the Dallas Stars McDavid seemed to be a target by Stars forward Jason Robertson.

The play began in the Oilers' zone off the face-off when the puck broke loose and McDavid was trying to chip it out on a breakaway. As he was skating out of the zone he came in contact with Robertson which appeared to be questionable at best when Robertson stuck his knee out which led to a collision with McDavid's knee.

Fortunately, there were no injuries on the play for either player, and Robertson was given 2 minutes for interference. After the period was done, Mattias Ekholm had a conversation with Robertson as they were leaving the ice.

Was it intentional or not? I will leave you to be the judge. On another positive note, the Oilers beat the Dallas Stars 4 -1, which continues to solidify their position in the third spot in the Western Conference Pacific division.
