In the 2023-2024 season, the Edmonton Oilers will be facing a lot of expectations from themselves and their fans.

It all started with a simple statement from McDavid himself, "Cup Or Bust". Throughout the off-season, Ken Holland has been busy making moves to keep the team moving forward.

"I really feel like we are the best team in the National Hockey League. I watch a lot of hockey. There's some really special players out there, and some really good teams that are fun to watch, but I just think our team is on another level." McDavid said.

Klim Kostin and Kailer Yamamoto were traded, Connor Brown was acquired, and Sam Gagner and Brandon Sutter were acquired on PTO. Besides signing a few AHL players, Holland is also hoping to make a lot of progress this year.

As the Ekholm and Bouchard pairing exceeded expectations after last season, the team looked better than they did last season after acquiring Mattias Ekholm from the Nashville Predators.

Connor McDavid has full confidence in the Oilers' roster this season.

A bold prediction has been made by Oilers captain Connor McDavid about the 2023-2024 season.

The Oilers are McDavid's pick for the best NHL team for 2023-2024.

Despite the fact that it is just a claim, it is encouraging that he believes so much in the team, especially considering they were among the best in the Pacific Division last year.

Vancouver Canucks will be their first opponent to be snuffed out on October 11.
