He joins 23 other Canadiens as the Oilers' 1st line center, being inducted this weekend into a tremendous honor for those featured, in the Walk of Fame.
Among the 23 inductees, he will be featured on this weekend's Canadian Walk Of Fame. In Toronto, the stars can be found on King Street West between John Street and Simcoe Street and Simcoe Street between King Street West and Wellington Street. Richmond Hill, where McDavid was born, is about a half hour away from downtown Toronto.
The only sport and athletic inductee this year is McDavid, who will join Wayne Gretzky, Donovan Bailey, Mark Messier, Clara Hughes, Steve Nash, Christina Sinclair and Terry Fox as other sports personalities featured on the Walk of Fame.
The Walk of Fame is just another accolade for McDavid, who already has 13 major NHL trophies, not counting five Art Ross trophies, four Ted Lindsay trophies, three Hart trophies, and one Maurice Richard trophies.
It is a tremendous honor for the 26-year-old to be included on the Walk of Fame and he was not expecting to be nominated.
McDavid's schedule conflicts will be accommodated this weekend so he can attend the ceremony. In addition to tomorrow's game, the Oilers won't play again until next Wednesday.
