"F**K Ekholm" Says Furious NHL Player
There are times when the Athletic rankings cause major drama in the NHL, and this was one of those times.
A Calgary Flames defenseman who was ranked just below his Edmonton Oilers an anonymous NHL counterpart reacted predictably.
In the same list as Mattias Ekholm, Rasmus Andersson fell just short of the Oilers' defenseman.
Many people believe Rasmus Andersson belongs above Ekholm, and it's caused fevered egos to rage.
Apparently, one anonymous player is fed up with Ekholm's ranking on The Athletic, claiming that Andersson deserves to be ranked above Ekholm. This pot-stirring is of course our favorite.
The anonymous player was offended that Ekholm was ranked so highly even though he isn't exactly an all-star. Edmonton Oilers reporter Jason Gregor reported the following:
Ekholm before (Rasmus Andersson)? F�k Ekholm,» the anonymous player said.
"He's in All-Star tier? Oh my god Can I get out of here? He's not good. He's not that good. He shouldn't even be on this list in any tier. He's good defensively. But come on, All-Star tier?"

However, let's be honest here, Rasmus Andersson is no Erik Karlsson or Brent Burns. He may be a slightly better player overall, but he's still not a first pairing defenseman.
