Hometown Kid and his team will not unite
According to reports, the Vancouver Canucks are actively pursuing unrestricted free agents, with Patrik Allvin successfully creating a cap surplus by buying out OEL.
There was speculation that the Canucks might strike a deal with hometown hero Milan Lucic, but it seems they have since backed off.
UFA Milan Lucic continues to talk with teams.
The Canucks are no longer in the mix.
According to Rick Dahliwal and several other sources, Lucic will officially sign with the Boston Bruins in the upcoming weeks of free agency.
