John Tavares Watches an Islanders Fan in Distraught Throw His Jersey on The Ice

It's been five seasons since John Tavares left the New York Islanders to join the Toronto Maple Leafs in free agency. Throughout that time, Taveras has put up solid numbers for the Leafs but has not cracked past the first round. One of the reasons why Toronto brought him in was for that very reason and it's yet to happen.

So as it goes, the Maple Leafs were on the road and played the Islanders where an Islanders fan decided to throw a Maple Leafs jersey, most likely John Tavares on the ice at the beginning of the game.

As always numerous fans were quite happy that happened, and afterwards, the fan was escorted out of the rink.

It boggles my mind that this continues, it's been five seasons and the
The Islanders have gone further in the playoffs than Taveras has.

I think it's time for fans to move on in Long Island and get on with their playoff run that they're trying to lock in.

The Islanders beat the Maple Leafs 7-2, with the Islanders holding the first wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference with 82 points.
