Legendary goalie hints at retirement during recent interview
It seems that Marc-Andre Fleury is getting ready for a bittersweet moment in his career.
The Minnesota Wild goaltender is set to face the Montreal Canadiens at the iconic Bell Centre, and it might just be his last appearance in his hometown.
In a touching move, the veteran goalie has purchased 24 tickets for his family to attend the game.
This gesture has left many speculating if this could indeed mark his final game in Montreal.
Fleury shared his thoughts, saying,
"More than usual for this one. But still got to get the win. Got to get the 2 points & that's what matters. And hopefully you can put on a good show for them."
Fleury is in the final year of his two-year, $7 million contract, with a $3.5 million cap hit.
If this does turn out to be his last NHL season, the game in Montreal will hold a special place in the heart of this future Hall of Famer.
