Over the past couple of weeks Elias Lindholm has been in the news as he is seeking a new contract extension. Hockey tonight tweeted his asking price which appears to be far apart from what the Flames are willing to pay.
It's been widely rumored that the Colorado Avalanche would be the landing spot for Lindholm if a trade were to occur, but it appears now a new city has emerged as a potential landing spot which happens to be the Winnipeg Jets.
With the expected rise in the salary cap next season over $4 million and with the Jets currently at $13.1 million in cap space for next season they could certainly absorb his contract demand and give that lineup a much-needed boost with Blake Wheeler and Pierre Luc Dubois no longer with the team.
The Jets also have extensive draft capital as they holds six of their draft choices for next year including the Montreal Canadiens second round pick in 2024.
It remains to be seen whether they can make a deal happen, but I feel that True North Sports Entertainment will be front and centre.
