The Edmonton Oilers received a welcome sight today, with Evander Kane returning to the ice after the gruesome injury he sustained earlier this season to his wrist. Kane, had his wrist slashed with a skate and was rushed immediately to the local hospital To repair the damage.
This is certainly welcome news for the Oilers and Oilers nation as Kane was having an effective campaign this season. At the time of his injury, he played 14 games and had five goals and eight assists for 14 points. According to head coach Jay Woodcroft, Kane remains week to week however this is an encouraging sign of his return later this season for their continued playoff push.
The Oilers will be active on the trade front as the March third trade deadline approaches. And if Kane can return that would be like adding a new player without having to move any assets.
We wish Evander Kane all the best and a continued speedy recovery
