I think if the Vancouver Canucks could go back in time they would likely go back to before they signed forward Jt Miller to a 8 year contract extension last summer. The Canucks are realizing they messed up with signing Miller and are likely to lose their captain Bo Horvat due to cap issues.

Miller was rumored to be on the trading block last season and has a reputation of a piss poor attitude, sometimes he has been criticized for his lack of play and especially when the Canucks are losing. Miller is also not the best teammate as he can be very rude to his peers when things aren't going his way.

Miller has come into criticism after the Canucks recent game vs the Winnipeg Jets when Miller would throw a tantrum, screaming at Canucks back up goaltender Colin Delia to:

"Get the fuck off the ice!"

When Miller was trying to set up a play, he would then slam his stick on the back of the net before Delia would go to the bench for the extra attacker down by a goal in the final minute of the 3rd period.

Hockey Insider Frank Seravalli would share Miller's teammates didn't appreciate Miller's actions:

"Miller has a reputation of being a prick, from his teammates." -Frank Seravalli

Sportsnet's Hockey panel would discuss the situation and they too didn't agree with Miller's actions. They would also show Miller's lack of interest to defend on two of the goals vs the Calgary Flames.

As for Miller, instead of being a leader and owning up to his mistake and apologize to Delia , Miller would say:

"I'd like to say my lack of production is a compliment to me not cheating the game and playing the right way."-JT Miller

This is definitely not the leader a team needs, but unfortunately with Bo Horvat to likely be traded on or before March 3rd, and Miller having 7 years left on his current deal, the Canucks are in a very tough situation.
