It's always refreshing to take NHL fans to get to hear from stars that have been traded to their favourite team. Many express their enjoyment of moving to the city they're in and feel that it's a good fit for them in their family.

During the trade deadline this year Mattias Ekholm was moved from the Nashville Predators to the Oilers where he was instrumental in securing a playoff spot and helping the team go to the second round.

He was at the rink recently and caught up with Oilers TV and 630 CHED and giving them an update on how things are with him, his family and his stay in Edmonton.

Overall his take on the city was positive. He feels that it's a good fit for his family and himself. The Swedish native explains that his stay in
Edmonton is similar to his home country as it both are in northern climates and used to the cold and snow.

He enjoys the fact that there is cooler air compared to Nashville which can be very warm and humid.

The 33-year-old defenceman play 21 games for the Oilers kama scored four goals and had ten assists for 14 points and was a + 28. During his playoffs, he played twelve games, scored one goal with six assists for seven points and had eight penalty minutes.

Once the trade was complete, the Oilers went on a 17 and two run down the stretch which is the second-best record in the NHL.
