Oilers' Ken Holland's Plans Have Been Made Clear and They Are Closer to Acquiring an Elite Player

It's been no secret that Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun has been looking for a change of scenery since he announced that he wanted to be moved to a contender this season. Rumour after rumour, and many posts later, Chychrun is still a Coyote.

The Oilers have been one of the teams Highly rumoured to be looking at this defenseman. Sportsnet insider Elliot Friedman thanks that the Oilers are now heavily focused on Chychrun more than the month before.

The 24-year-old Boca Raton, an FL native, has been having a rebound since returning from injury this season. He has played 35 games, scored seven goals with 20 assists for 27 points, and is a + 6. In the 2016 draft first round, sixteen choice overall, he was drafted

He brings numerous skill sets to whoever trades for him and will help push for a playoff spot. He also carries a lovely cap hit and currently holds a $4.2 million cap for the next two seasons.

The price tag has been changing over the past six months, and if the Oilers want to land this coveted defenseman, they will have to dig deep into their draft picks and prospects to land him.
