Oilers sizing up their opponent for Round One.
Now that the Oilers have clinched their playoff spot and all the hard work they've done over the season has been vindicated, the team has to play out its remaining games and a whole new season will begin within the next few weeks.
It's the first part of what teams play for which is making it to the Stanley Cup playoffs, of course, the big prize is the Stanley Cup itself but you need to go through 4 rounds to get there which is no easy task.
According to lights out hockey, if the season were to end today the Oilers would face the Kings in the first round.
The Kings are an up-and-coming team as they are quick just like the Oilers and have some skill and firepower to work with. I think that the Oilers have more scoring available and more options to give the kings problems when it comes to the matchup game.
As always, goaltending will be the big question mark into round one as to whether Jack Campbell or Stuart Skinner can fulfill the role and carry the team forward.
The Oilers have five games remaining in the regular season to push hard to lock up home-ice advantage and possibly first place in the Pacific as they are only two points behind Vegas.
