Oilers management will certainly rack up frequent flyer miles and long-distance cell phone bills as the March 3rd trade deadline approaches. To make a strong push for a playoff spot, the Oilers are seeking help in several areas.

One such management member is Oilers assistant general manager Brad Holland. Holland is Ken Holland's son and he was spotted at the Columbus Blue Jackets Vancouver Canucks game.

Both teams are struggling this season, so they'll be looking to recoup assets by moving contracts and other players. Due to his refusal to sign with the Canucks, Bo Horvat is currently available, and the Blue Jackets have unsigned defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov.

Currently, the Oilers are seeking out help in their defense as it has struggled throughout the season and their depth is not good enough to make a long run in the postseason.

The Oilers hold their first three rounds of this year's draft choices, and only have two NHL-proven defensemen on the left side in Darnell Nurse and Brett Kulak. They will certainly need to shore up that side of their defense corps.

Are the Oilers interested in Gavrikov? Could they use Jesse Puljujarvi along with draft picks or prospects to bring Bo Horvat to the Oilers? Only time will tell but one thing is certain Oilers management is going to be very busy over the next number of weeks.
