There is still being plenty of hockey to play this season, and Oilers General Manager Ken Holland is looking to improve his team now and going into the playoffs.
One place the Oilers want to improve on is the defence core and Holland looks to possibly have his man. According to Sportsnet's Eric Engels the Edmonton Oilers are very interested in acquiring the services of Montreal Canadiens defenseman Joel Edmundson.
Edmundson would be a huge pick up for the Oilers, the 29 year-old from Brandon Manitoba has won a Stanley Cup back in 2019 with the St Louis Blues, and was a huge part of the Montreal Canadiens magical run to the Stanley Cup final during the 2021 playoffs.
Edmundson is currently in the 3rd year of his current contract that pays him $3.5 million dollars annually. Edmundson has one year remaining on that current deal. In 17 games this season Edmundson, has 1 goal and 2 assists with a -7 rating on a rebuilding Habs team.
