As we come up on 50 games played, the Edmonton Oilers currently sit 12th in the league, 4th in their division, and are in the first wild card spot with a record of 27-18-4. They have 58 points on the season and have the hot hand recently posting a 7-1-2 record in their last 10 games.

Things are tight in the pacific as there are currently 5 teams in a battle for the wild card spots only being separated by 9 points. Goaltending has been a struggle for the Oilers this year as their supposed to be number 1 goalie Jack Campbell got his place taken from him by backup goalie Stuart Skinner.

Jack Campbell 31 has really struggled this year putting up a 14-8-1 record with a 3.35 GAA and a .887 SV%. Campbell was supposed to be the big piece Edmonton needed to make a deep run for the cup. If Campbell could get back to form, it would be a huge boost for the Oilers in their push to make the playoffs and go on a deep run.

Stuart Skinner 24 has been playing good for the Oilers putting up a record of 13-10-3 with a 2.92 GAA and a .914 SV%. If Campbell can stay consistent as he has (Campbell has won his last five straight starts) the Oilers will be even more scaries come trade deadline,

If you're an Oliers fans you hope they can rely on Campbell to help them down the road and steal some games for them down the road and in the playoffs.
