The NHL Prospect Who Refused to Shake Gary Bettman's Hand
During the 2015 NHL Draft, Colin White, selected 21st overall by the Ottawa Senators, inadvertently snubbed NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman. As White greeted the Senators' management on stage, he shook hands with everyone except Bettman, who appeared to expect a handshake.
However, White's focus was on his new team. Since then, White has established himself in the NHL. In the 2022-2023 season, he played for the Florida Panthers, contributing two assists and seven shots on goal in the team's Stanley Cup Finals run.
Despite falling short, White's performance showcased his potential as a valuable player in the league.
