The Oilers Are Set to Make a Push For Jonathan Toews
The Chicago Blackhawks have confirmed that Jonathan Toews will not be returning to the team next season, regardless of his decision to retire or continue playing.
Reports suggest that the Edmonton Oilers could be interested in signing Toews as their fourth-line center. This move would allow Derek Ryan to transition to right wing.
Despite Toews' health concerns, if he chooses to continue his career, he could be a valuable addition to the Oilers' bottom six, he would be willing to take a pay-cut to go to an NHL contender like the Oilers.
Toews had a productive season in 2022-23, scoring 15 goals and tallying 31 points in 53 games. Only time will tell if Toews ends up wearing an Oilers jersey this season.
