Until today, Tyler Wright was the Head Scout for the Edmonton Oilers, and he was responsible for many draft picks that showed great promise.

With the likes of Dylan Holloway and Xavier Bourgault, Wright did a decent job considering his tenure with the team.

The #Oilers have mutually parted ways with Tyler Wright & announced Rick Pracey as their new Director of Amateur Scouting.

Huge news on the amateur scouting front.

Tyler Wright's biggest picks in EDM included Holloway, Bourgault, Schaefer and Petrov, amongst others.

Meanwhile, Rick Pracey's experience includes being a PHI scout since 2014 & Director of Amateur Scouting in Colorado from 2008-2014.

According to the report, Wright and the team have mutually decided to part ways as of today. Prior to joining the Oilers front office, Wright worked for the Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets as a scout.

In response to this news, the team brought in Rick Pracey as the new scout to replace Wright. Pracey has been with the Colorado Avalanche for 13 years, spending six of those years as an amateur scout.

Nathan MacKinnon, Tyson Barrie, Gabriel Landeskog, Matt Duchene, and Ryan O'Reilly are among Pracey's draft picks.

Pracey, prior to becoming a scout, spent 5 years as a goaltender at Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Windsor, before a yearlong stint in the UHL. Before moving into amateur scouting with the Avalanche in 2001, he spent a year coaching goaltenders in the OHL.
