What Will The Edmonton Oilers Offer Jonathan Toews?
News reports suggest that there has been communication between Jonathan Toews and the Edmonton Oilers earlier this year. As his contract expires on July 1st, many potential suitors will be looking for valuable players to add depth and scoring options to their teams.
Toews is among the top 50 unrestricted free agents available in the 2023 class, and rumors suggest that the Stanley Cup-winning veteran may be revisited by the Oilers for another shot at the title.
If Nick Bjugstad is to leave the team, Toews could be a valuable addition as a depth option.
However, due to his health concerns, it seems probable that he may only be offered a value contract of $1.15 million for a year.
Toews would not only bring veteran leadership to the team, but he would also be a strong scoring option off the bench.
This season, he played 53 games and scored 15 goals with 16 assists for a total of 31 points.
As a 1st round pick and 3-time Stanley Cup Champion with the Chicago Blackhawks, Toews would undoubtedly bring a wealth of experience to any team he joins.
