With the training camp about to begin on September 21st, head coach Jay Woodcroft will start the task of determining which lines will work best with the players he has, whether they are returning players or new signings from the offseason, along with any rookies who could make the team.
According to Oiler Alert, we have the latest line combinations which show a much different look than last week.
In the forwards, Holloway has moved up to the third line, and Janmark has been dropped to the fourth. With the recent addition of PTO Gagner and the inclusion of Drake Caggiula, it's expected that the bottom six will continue to search for what works best.
The most significant change seen is the breakup of the defensive pairing of Evan Bouchard and Mattias Ekholm. It appears that Woodcroft would like to pair Nurse with Bouchard and have Broberg move up into the top four to assess his capabilities. With Ceci on the third pairing, it seems like the coaching staff wants to give young players a chance for now and understand where they stand.
