Bob Cole, legendary play by play announcer, passes away at 90

Moments ago, the hockey world was rocked by some tragic news. The legendary play by play announcer Bob Cole has passed away at 90 years old, according to several reports.

Cole was the voice of the NHL for generations of fans in Canada, and many fans will be stricken by the loss. His iconic voice, and his long repeated catchphrase of �Oh Baby!' still echoes in the minds of any hockey fan - and watching clips of him calling plays brings back fond memories of old time hockey.

Just 5 years ago on April 19, 2019, Cole called his final game on Hockey Night in Canada. Although it was a meaningless late season game between Toronto and Montreal, so many fans can remember listening in to hear the legend call his final game.

According to CBC, Cole passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. They will certainly be in the thoughts of the hockey world today, as we all send our love and condolences to the family - and our gratitude for hearing Bob for so many years.
