Ty Anderson of NBC Sports revealed today that Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand had undergone three separate surgeries this summer.

Over the last few months, he had surgery on his elbow, growing and abdomen which he had sustained throughout the 2023-2024 regular season. It became evident as the playoffs wore on that there was a major issue with Marchand's health as he along with his team went through a grueling second round with the Florida Panthers.

Marchand, viewed as one of the most hated players in the NHL along with being one of the biggest pests enjoy his first year as captain of the team after his best friend and teammate Patrice Bergeron decided to hang up his skates.

He was selected by the Bruins in 2006, third round 71st overall. The 36-year-old winger has played his entire career with the Bruins and has won 1 Stanley Cup in 2011. Last season, he played all 82 games scoring 29 goals with 38 assists for 67 points and was a + 2 with 78 penalty minutes.

Daily faceoff also mentioned that he is not to miss anytime and will begin the season as expected. Times remain tense for the Bruins as the team continues to lock horns with starting goaltender Jeremy Swayman as contract negotiations have stalled and appeared to be going nowhere anytime soon and will continue to talk to Marchand as his deal has one year remaining.
