Current NHL player calls first place team massive frauds, going to lose in first round
The Winnipeg Jets have been one of the biggest stories around the NHL this year, surprising the league with a run that had them in first place in the league around the new year. They've taken a step back as of late, and now on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, host Ryan Whitney revealed that one player as an absolutely dismal opinion on the Jets.
I had a player in the NHL on a team currently sitting in a playoff spot tell me that the Winnipeg Jets are the biggest frauds in the league, and they'll lose in the 1st round.
Whitney revealed that an anonymous player mentioned to him that he thinks the Jets are fraudulently good, and that they'll get dusted in the first round. Whitney went on to reveal that the player who said this did play in the Western Conference, and that they could meet in the first round of the playoffs.
It's interesting to hear the honest opinions of players about things around the league, especially teams that they could be facing in the playoffs. Obviously, the Winnipeg Jets are still better than a lottery team, but maybe they're not a quality a team as their early run of success indicated. They're still carried by Connor Hellebuyck in net, but do have decent offensive and defensive weapons - they've just never been able to put it together. We'll have to see if the Hets will prove this anonymous player wrong, and find any sort of playoff success.
