Don Cherry suffers unexpected family tragedy
This morning reports surfaced online that Don Cherry's daughter, Cynthia, has suddenly passed away.
Passed away unexpectedly at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga on Monday, July 15, 2024 at the age of 67.
She was dearly loved by her son Del (Caroline Lyczek), and his father Roger. Much loved daughter of Don and the late Rose. Dear sister of Tim (Ling), and aunt of Grace.
Don Cherry has been an icon of Canadian Hockey for decades. For 38 years, Cherry appeared on Coach's Corner for Hockey Night in Canada, breaking down plays and speaking on everything he thought about the NHL. He has since been taken off television, but he continues being a media presence with his Grapevine podcast.
It's tragic to hear of Cynthia's sudden passing, and hockey fans are pouring out in support for the Cherry family. Our best wishes are with them in this difficult time.
