Panthers star defenseman Aaron Ekblad told the Cam and Strick podcast that he was disgusted with the media after being disrespected during the Stanley Cup finals.

During his interview, Ekblad showed pure disgust and outrage towards the media coverage and all the negativity that came towards the Florida Panthers.

Eckblad went further to call out the Spittin Chiclets podcast and their hosts who he felt was clearly siding with the Oilers throughout the entire Stanley Cup finals and did not show any respect towards the Panthers.

It's worth noting that Ryan Whitney, who is one of the hosts was a former Edmonton Oiler and was cheering on his former team.

It could be a tough season for Ekblad has the pressure has begun to mount as he is entered a contract year, and many rumors have surfaced throughout the web that Ekblad could be on the move from the Panthers as general manager bill Zito seeks to open more cap space as he holds a cap hit of over $8 million per season.

Given his pedigree, a right hand shot and now a Stanley Cup winner, many teams would line up to trade for his rights & him to a long-term deal as he is only 28 years old.

It will be a wait and see approach on how Zito will handle his contract and whether he will keep him long term or move him along for younger prospects and assets as the Panthers do not hold a draft pick till the fourth round in 2025.
