It was announced moments ago by 32 Thoughts podcaster and Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman announced that the Colorado Avalanche and the Seattle Kraken have made a trade.
The Avalanche sent veteran NHL scorer
Tomas Tatar to the Kraken for a future 5th round pick.
This trade was made ahead of the Christmas trade freeze that will be taking effect shortly within the NHL.
The 33 year old winger holds a $1.5 million cap hit this season and with the Kraken and struggling to score goals it appears that the Avalanche are willing to move on from him as they will not sign him long term.
Through 27 games of this season, he has scored one goal with eight assists for nine points. He also is only playing 11 minutes and 16 seconds of ice time on average this year.
It's widely expected he will receive more ice time with Dave Hakstol as the Kraken search for more goals.
