Today, the Oilers AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors will be taking on the Colorado Eagles, and Jack Campbell will play his 13th game for the Condors this season. When he was first sent down to the minors, his atrocious play from the NHL carried over and he was looking near hopeless for improvement. Now however, things appear to be turning around for Campbell.

In his last 9 stars with the Condors, Campbell has managed a record of 6-3 with a 2.86 GAA and a .918 save percentage. Considering his save percentage across the full 12 games this season is .898, it speaks to how poor Campbell was when he first arrived in the AHL, and now how much he's improved.

When the Oilers sent Campbell to the minor league in November of this season, the team was hoping that Campbell would be able to rebound quickly. Instead, his initial struggles and the emergence of Olivier Rodrigue have prolonged his stint in the AHL, and the consistency of the Skinner and Pickard tandem has led to great success for the Oilers.

Still, if Campbell is able to maintain this quality stretch of play, the Oilers will absolutely look to recall him from the AHL and give him another shot. Now that the Oilers have recovered from the basement of the standings back into a playoff spot, there's more room for error and experiment, and recalling Campbell would certainly be an experiment.
