With the Oilers on a crazy hot streak, it looks like they're finally starting to get things going. One reason is due to Stuart Skinner's amazing goaltending recently, as even just league-average goaltending over the first 20 games would have increased their record instantly. This is obvious when you look at the Oilers' PDO; a stat that add your save percentage and shooting percentage together to get something kind of stat to show you team's puck luck.

100 is the league average for PDO, as most teams settle in around that mark by the end of the season. Despite their domination of the league and Stuart Skinner's impressive goaltending lately, their PDO still only stands at 99.2. This means that they theoretically still have some room to get luckier with the puck, but it mostly just shows how unlucky they truly got at the start of the season.

I doubt that their PDO will creep into the 100 mark, exemplified by the fact that the Oilers have a PDO of 104 since December 19th, with a season low PDO sitting around 95. Now that the Oilers have figured it out and are getting consistently amazing goaltending from Stuart Skinner, they seem to have figured out how to win games. They will most likely rest around this mark for the rest of the season, showing that they can continue to compete and win games even with luck not going their way.
