Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl spotted for first time together in offseason
Earlier today, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were seen together for the first time since the end of last season.
The Oilers superstars are already back in the gym preparing for next year. In a new video surfacing online, McDavid and Draisaitl were taking part in some off-ice training.
The team only took about two weeks off since the end of the Stanley Cup Final before reuniting to begin their offseason training. At Zach Hyman's recent celebrity event, McDavid revealed that more than a few Oilers teammates are already back together, taking practically no time off since their heartbreaking Game 7 defeat.
It's also interesting to see Draisaitl presumably back in Edmonton, when the Oilers are expected to name a GM very soon. Draisaitl just got back from Spain, where he proposed to his longtime girlfriend Celeste Desjardins. Now, he could be back in town to lock up the next big Elmer of his future - his next contract.
Regardless, it's great for Oilers fans to see their two superstars get back together after a short offseason break and begin preparations for the upcoming year. It's clear that the Oilers will have more motivation than ever before, and will have their best team in the McDavid era. They're poised to make another long run at the Stanley Cup.
