During last Saturday's game, Oilers forwards Corey Perry and Evander Kane were spotted clearly arguing on the bench. Today, Perry set the record straight at practice, and apologized to Kane.

»It happens. Brothers fight and argue. We are trying to make each other better. We talked about it after, apologize and move on. It happens in the room often, it just happened that the camera showed it.»
- Corey Perry.

This incident gathered plenty of attention because of recent reports that Kane may be causing a rift in the locker room, but time and again, the Oilers have denied these as rumours. Kane isn't playing his best hockey right now, and it seems like his teammates are trying their best to lift up his game by demanding more from him. The incident with Perry, and a few weeks ago with Draisaitl, are only Kane's teammates demanding more from him - a very good thing to see from the players.

That's how you win. You hold everybody accountable, you push everybody's buttons. You do whatever you have to do to get the best out of everybody.

At the end of Perry's press availability, he jokingly threw the floor to Kane.

Kane confirmed later that everything was fine between the two players, and that they're actually paired in an upcoming Masters Pool.

Kane recently broke a brutal 21 game goalless drought with an impressive showing against Colorado, but his game took another dive in Calgary, and Kane played the lowest amount of ice time in his career with Edmonton. Perry's argument with Kane at the end of the second period seemed to be about his turnovers, which were especially frustrating after the great game in Colorado.

In the next few weeks, the Oilers are clearly making it a priority to get Kane's game ramped up and back at its best heading into the playoffs. Kane can be one of the most impactful Oilers forwards when he plays physical and finds scoring chances around the net - and the team will need him in that form to win a Stanley Cup.
