Yesterday's announcement of Brad Holland's departure from the Oilers organization has stirred some discussion to where he may land up and it appears that this Eastern Conference rival might be his destination.
David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period mentioned that the Toronto Maple Leafs will be announcing additions to their management team as the team continues to shuffle once a year giving people an opportunity to work with the organization.
Holland's name and work that he's done with the Oilers would certainly make him a candidate for the Maple Leafs.
It was also mentioned by Preston Hodgkinson that it doesn't appear that the Oilers are in a hurry to fill Holland's position as they would like to review their corporate structure take a few weeks to form an action plan.
Ken Holland himself may be joining the Utah Hockey Club in some executive role in the coming weeks. If Ken is returning to the NHL in Utah, maybe he brings his son Brad over with him.
Teams like the Maple Leafs tend to spend their dollars on management and coaching as there is no salary cap to prevent them from acquiring talent across the league. It remains to be seen on whether general manager Brad Treliving will make this transaction, but it appears to be more than likely to happen.
