Insider reveals price for Edmonton Oilers to acquire Tarasenko in trade
This season has been a major disappointment for the Ottawa Senators and their Stanley Cup winning forward Vladimir Tarasenko. He had high hopes that the franchise would take the next step and become competitive in the Stanley Cup playoffs which led to his signing with the Senators.
Now that the Senators are out of the playoff picture, several teams have been working the phones with the Senators including the Edmonton Oilers on Tarasenko's services.
With the Oilers in a win now approach and Tarasenko willing to move his no trade clause to move to a contender is certainly appealing for the Edmonton organization. The 32-year-old winger has 17 goals with 41 points through 57 games.
With his ability to put the puck in the net and help their power play along with giving the third line an extra boost offensively, it certainly possible that general manager Ken Holland and his staff would be willing to give up a second-round choice and a prospect to land Tarasenko.
I think this is a deal that needs to be done, as this would help the Oilers greatly especially having some playoff and Stanley Cup experience under his belt.
